Collection contains various types of materials which document Ackermann's work as a missionary for the Woman's Christian Temperence Union and for peace groups, her world travels, and life in Australia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Included are letters, newsclippings, photographs and a scrapbook.

Best known for her leadership (1879-1898) of the influential Woman's Christian Temperance Union, Willard also supported and often spearheaded a wide variety of social reforms, including woman suffrage, economic equality, and fair labor laws. Willard gained an international reputation through her speeches and publications.
